Deck & Fence Staining Specialists

Deck Staining
Marin County

Protect and restore your deck with Marin County's most trusted staining contractor. Premium Cabot, TWP, and Sherwin-Williams stains, full prep and repair, and 3–5 year durability on every job.

Why Professional Deck Staining Matters

Marin County's coastal climate is hard on wood. Professional staining protects your investment and keeps your deck looking great for years.

🌲

Protect Your Wood Investment

Decks and fences are exposed to Marin County's coastal moisture, UV rays, and temperature swings year-round. Professional staining seals the wood and prevents cracking, warping, rot, and mildew — extending the life of your deck by years.

🎨

Transparent & Solid Stain Options

We offer semi-transparent stains that showcase the natural wood grain, solid-color stains for a painted look with better UV protection, and clear sealers for new wood. We'll help you choose the right product for your deck's age and condition.

🔧

Full Prep & Cleaning

Proper deck prep is everything. We power wash, sand rough boards, replace damaged planks, and apply a wood brightener before any stain is applied. Stain applied over dirty or gray wood fails in 1–2 years; properly prepped decks last 3–5 years.

🏡

Curb Appeal & Home Value

A freshly stained deck dramatically improves your home's outdoor living space and curb appeal. For homes in Marin County's competitive real estate market, a well-maintained deck is a meaningful selling point.

🛡️

Premium Stain Brands

We use Cabot Australian Timber Oil, TWP (Total Wood Preservative), and Sherwin-Williams SuperDeck — all formulated specifically for California's coastal climate and rated for 3–5 year durability on properly prepared wood.

Fences, Pergolas & Trim

We handle more than just decks. Fences, pergolas, trellises, exterior wood trim, and outbuildings can all be stained or painted in the same visit — saving you time and keeping your entire property looking cohesive.

Choosing the Right Deck Stain

Not all deck stains are equal. We'll help you choose the right product for your deck's age, wood species, and desired look.

Our Deck Staining Process

Proper prep is the difference between a stain job that lasts 1 year and one that lasts 5. Here's our 6-step process.

01

Free On-Site Estimate

Steve visits your property, inspects the deck's condition, discusses stain options and colors, and provides a detailed written estimate — typically within 24 hours.

02

Power Wash & Clean

We thoroughly power wash the entire deck surface to remove dirt, mildew, gray weathering, and any old failing stain. This is the single most important step for stain adhesion.

03

Sand & Repair

We hand-sand rough boards, splinters, and raised grain. Damaged or rotting boards are replaced before staining. We want your deck to be structurally sound before we apply any product.

04

Wood Brightener Application

We apply a wood brightener/conditioner to open the wood grain and restore the natural pH of the wood — ensuring maximum penetration and adhesion of the stain.

05

Apply Stain (1–2 Coats)

We apply your chosen premium stain using a combination of brush, roller, and pad applicator for complete penetration into all surfaces, including between deck boards.

06

Final Inspection & Cleanup

We inspect every board, touch up any thin spots, and clean up completely before calling the job done. We'll walk through the finished deck with you before we leave.
